The project consists in the cultivation and subsequent processing of algal biomass from which to obtain products with potential applications in various industrial sectors with a process based on the cyclic use of resources, minimizing the material sent for disposal and improving the efficiency of the agro-industrial system.

Founded in 2005 COSBI (acronym for Computational and Systems Biology) is a non-profit foundation, whose shares are held 50 % by Microsoft Research and 50% by the University of Trento.
